Easy Steps for Hosting a MSNA Potluck Event

1. Set a date for your event.

2. Make a list of the people you want to invite.

3. Visualize your event. Do you want to meet for dinner, brunch? Desserts and coffee later in the evening? BBQ? Where would you like to meet? Some ideas for different parties are:

• Potluck
• Brunch Potluck
• Dessert Potluck
• Backyard BBQ Potluck
• Christmas Cookie Exchange
• Fire Pit (Camping Favorites) Potluck
• Soups, Salads and Breads Potluck
• Hors d’oeuvres Potluck
• Ethnic/Global Potluck

4. Send e-mail or paper invitations with date, time and location of your event. Have people RSVP. If having a potluck, you may make suggestions at that time what you need (salad, main dish, dessert, etc.)

5. Mail with the invitation a handout on GCNF or Kid’s Against Hunger for background information on the charity you wish to sponser.

6. Host and/or hostess of the event should be in charge of beverages and table settings. You may choose to bring a food item, also.

7. Remind everyone attending that you one copy of the recipe brought with them to your party. Send a blank Recipe Collection Form with the invitation. We would like to eventually compile a cookbook with these recipes with the proceeds going to GCNF and Kid's Against Hunger Organization.

8. Collect contributions in the form of checks or cash. Set up a "Giving Bowl" for contributions. Checks should be made out to either: GCNF or Kid's Against Hunger depending on which you are sponsoring. If cash is given, please write a personal check to cover the amount. Do not send Cash in the mail. Please note: personal checks may be used as a receipt for tax purposes.

9. Please print GCNF tax donation forms and Kid’s Against Hunger tax donation forms and place them next to your "Giving Bowl".

10. Please email or send event photos, fun stories, your recipes, and event donations to the following address:
